About Plein Air
En Plein Air is a French expression which means "in the open air" and is used to describe the act of painting outdoors. Working in natural light to complete a painting on location has inspired many artists.
Paintings will be displayed Friday evening August 23, from 6-9pm and Saturday August 24, 10am - 2:30 pm. Paintings will be open for viewing and silent auction bidding during these hours. This will be the 2nd annual Plein Air Art Competition held in Meeker. Cash Awards, $1000 Best of Show

Plein Air Schedule
- Paint Out: within a 50 mile radius of downtown Meeker
- 12pm: Turn in paintings by noon to Upstairs Gallery
- 6-7pm: Purchase Patrons Champagne Social and Artists Reception - Upstairs Gallery
- 7-9pm: Public Meet and Greet with Artists, Silent Auction Begins - Upstairs Gallery
SATURDAY, AUGUST 24
- 10-12pm: Quick Draw Competition - Circle Park
- 12:30pm: Quick Draw Silent Auction Begins
- 1-2pm:Judge Bev Lee Plein Air Painting Demonstration - Circle Park
- 2:30pm: Awards Ceremony, Closing and Awarding Silent Auction Bid Winners - Upstairs Gallery

Purchase Patron Info
Residence and visitors are encouraged to build an impressive collection of art inspired by the town of Meeker and surrounding areas for your business or residence. The opportunity to have one-of-a-kind-paintings of Meeker and our outstanding surroundings hanging in your business or residence is not to be passed up.
Purchase patrons agree to spend $250 on artwork submitted by Plein Air 2013 artists. With this, purchase patrons get the opportunity to attend a special champagne social, preview and purchase artwork prior to the exhibit opening up to the public, have a purchase patron ribbon placed on artwork purchased, and get recognition in the event program.
